CHIVALRY IS
NOT DEAD
Manners Maketh is a social clothing brand with a vintage feel whose name is inspired by the old English proverb, “manners maketh man,” meaning that politeness is essential to humankind. We strive to promote being a gentleman in today’s society by exemplifying manners and most importantly by treating women with the respect they deserve. Nowadays, music and pop culture are encouraging males to do the opposite. “Gee," what a shame. That is why at Manners Maketh, we remind the masses of the 1950s-60s culture where common courtesy was a little more common. Back when men dressed to impress everyday and music had more tasteful lyrics. The modern gentlemen of today who wear our brand show everyone that chivalry is not dead. Our goal is to give all of the "good guys" who are underrepresented out there a voice and to show the younger generation that it's in fact cool to be nice!
Be nice. Be witty. Be confident. Be smooth. The women will come. Ladies love a man with manners.

"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give." -Winston Churchill
We call the men who wear this brand ‘modern gentlemen.’ They display only the best manners while always having a positive attitude. They are quick with a joke to make any lady laugh. A gentleman treats all women like the queens they are. For we are living, breathing proof that chivalry is not dead but instead thriving.
Stay Dapper, Witty, Chivalrous and Charitable.
Cheers!

Weeks later, during one of my college visits at Rollins College, I noticed the three words yet again, this time on a plaque outside one of the buildings on the campus. Let’s get this straight, I went my whole life without hearing this simple saying once to seeing it twice in a matter of weeks. This time I really took notice ....
